tempest of being
Tempest of Being reflects on crisis in the contemporary world—not only as a critical moment triggered by political events, environmental conditions, and personal circumstances, but also as a catalyst for self-reflection, change, and social unity. Bringing together artists with diverse interests and practices, the exhibition presents multiple points of view and invites audiences to consider how ongoing emergencies compel us to evolve, re-think relations to ourselves, our societies, and more-than-human life. Using mediums ranging from video to performance and interactive works, the participating students mine their concerns through conceptual and material introspection. Video pieces by Julia Czech and Joanna Dreczka link inner worlds with natural surroundings, tying the personal to environmental emergencies. Eryk Holesz examines the feedback loop between advanced technologies and ecological damage, while Martyna Piotrowska’s interactive work engages lichens as a symbol of adaptability. Turning inward, Mikołaj Nowosad and Katarzyna Skipirzepa address identity’s instability—from toxic masculinity to mental health. Magdalena Skotnicka and Borys Górski probe human–nonhuman interactions, and Marta Kosior explores memory formation as a mechanism shaping thought.
