The Struer Tracks 2025 Almanac is a publication project documenting and expanding the biennial’s artistic and theoretical exploration of sound as a communal practice. The fifth edition, titled “Kommunal Praksis”, invites reflection on how communities are formed and expressed through sound and listening. The Almanac was conceived as an open, experimental format — a platform for exploring sound as a means of creating belonging, fostering connections, and strengthening mutual support.
Developed during my curatorial internship at Sound Art Lab, the project gathered 56 contributions through an open call, welcoming anyone who felt a connection to the theme, regardless of professional background or institutional affiliation. The digital edition presents essays, interviews, listening exercises, sonic works, and other experimental formats, offering multiple entry points into communal and municipal practices. For the print edition, 17 texts were selected, alongside an interview with Jacob Eriksen, Director of Sound Art Lab, to provide closer insight into the biennial’s context and intentions.
Together, the two editions frame everyday and unexpected situations of listening — across the bodily and the social, the personal and the shared — highlighting how sound can reveal new perspectives on collective experience.
